Steve formed Engaged Leadership Advisors to leverage his successful senior level operating experience which encompasses having led large Fortune 500 companies (including as Chairman and CEO of American Express Bank), medium size and venture backed companies.  His experience includes diverse scenarios including driving growth (both organically and via acquisitions), leading turn-around situations and changing strategic direction.   Having “sat in the chair” as well as advising leaders while at Alvarez and Marsal, he is uniquely qualified to provide hands-on expertise to CEO’s and their leadership teams.

Given the depth and breadth of Steve’s experience, one of his greatest strengths is to look at each situation with Fresh Eyes – constantly asking questions about why things are the way they are, and more importantly, how they need to be transformed. Steve engages with CEO’s and their leadership teams to identify and address these issues,  allowing organizations to drive transformational change and produce significantly improved performance.

Each assignment is customized based on the unique issues to be addressed and always involves substantial interaction with the senior leader team.  Depending on the project, time frames can range from two months to establishing ongoing advisory relationships with CEO’s, acting in effect as their consigliere.  Due to the confidential nature of these assignments, clients have requested that their names not be identified.

Senior Advisor to CEO of Public Company
Projects include assessment and coaching members of the senior leadership team, advising the chief strategy officer to develop a transformation plan, and providing overall guidance and decision support to the CEO.
Advisor to CEO of Private Company
Working with CEO to develop break-out growth plan and implementation strategy.
Advisor to Private Equity Firm
Following two years of poor financial results, working closely with the CEO and leadership team to develop a new go forward plan as well as to consider possible sale of company.
Advisor to CEO of Venture Backed Company
Working with CEO to develop strong go-to-market plan following successful initial product deployment major client.
